In the second Award of the Solar Decathlon Europe 21/22 we made the second place! We won silver in the contest of Affordability & Viability! The team convinced the jury by working closely with the people of the Mirke neighbourhood:
«We like it a lot that you address in your project the neighbourhood scale. The Düsseldorf team has made a convincing and well structured analyses. They took relevant aspects in their consideration to archive affordability and viability. You all explained very well how this project can work in detail. The amount of rent was clear, the additional cost – they all remained affordable for the target group. The project is based on the research of economical construction systems which are efficient and affordable. And they have simple modules which can be replicated. They reduced the cost for construction and time for the construction. For the Social Viability the Open Space Analyses was very good and created good ideas for the neighbourhood. The project is supported by cooperations like Insel e.V. And you wanted to have a district manager placed in your new construction.»
